Lateral Arts was founded in 1995 to provide Internet-related software services.

The first project was a website giving young contemporary artists a mechanism for publicising their work throughout the world, using the Internet.

Since then the company has built a number of products and websites, as well as providing software solutions to other companies.

In 2004 the company also started offering mediation services to individuals and organisations.
